Queensland’s system of senior assessment underwent a significant change, in 2019. This represented the biggest change to secondary schooling in Queensland in 30 years. As a school we engaged in planning and delivering this change. The process has been rolled out by the Queensland Curriculum & Assessment Authority (QCAA).
The system involved:
- new processes to strengthen the quality and comparability of school-based assessment
- external assessment introduced in most subjects
- a move away from the Overall Position (OP) rank to an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR)
