Queensland’s system of senior assessment is set to change, commencing with Year 11 students in 2019. This represents the biggest change to secondary schooling in Queensland in 30 years. As a school we are engaged in planning and preparing for this change. The process is being rolled out by the Queensland Curriculum & Assessment Authority (QCAA).
The new system involves:
- new processes to strengthen the quality and comparability of school-based assessment
- external assessment introduced in most subjects
- a move away from the Overall Position (OP) rank to an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR)
More information is available from the Queensland Curriculum & Assessment Authority. Details of course offerings for Year 11 in 2019 are available to download.
