Beyond the Broncos

Kaylee Barke
As a Student Support Officer, my primary responsibility is to deliver the Beyond the Broncos Program, which aims to enhance the engagement, attendance, retention, and academic progress of First Nations students. This is achieved through:
- Culturally Safe Mentoring: Providing strengths-based support to students, fostering a safe and inclusive environment.
- Academic Support: Offering tutorials, one-on-one and group mentoring sessions, and workshops to improve educational outcomes.
- Cultural Activities: Organising events that celebrate and integrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures into the school community.
- Career Pathways Guidance: Assisting students in exploring future employment or educational opportunities.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Working closely with school staff, parents, carers, Indigenous community members, NGOs, and government agencies to ensure comprehensive support for students.
Through these initiatives, I aim to empower students to achieve their full potential, both academically and personally.
